imageAs my friend Marv Foley has reminded me, today is the 40th anniversary of what some consider to be the greatest game in baseball history. r
r
On July 1st 1963, future hall of famers Juan Marichal of the SF Giants and Warren Spahn of the Milwaukee Braves battled each other in a 16 inning shut out until Willie Mays won the game on a home run in the bottom of the 16th.r
r
Amazingly, both pitchers faced 55 batters each, while Marichal delivered a mind-boggling 227 pitches. r
