This morning Jeremy and I hit the road just past 6am so we could make the 250 mile drive down to Cincinnati to catch a Reds – Diamondbacks afternoon game. We’ve been excited about this trip for a while since we had tickets in the 4th row right next to the D-back’s dugout. As we usually do when the two of us go to a game together, we got there hours early so we could catch batting practice with the hope of getting a ball and maybe an autograph.

Turns out that our seats were right in autograph alley, and hanging out by our seats Jeremy managed to get a ball from Pitcher Mike Fetters before the game, and promptly got three Diamondbacks to autograph the new trophy. Later, during the game, D-backs Outfielder Luis Terrero tossed Jeremy another ball, which he got autographed by pitcher Mike Koplove after the game was over.

Of course it was a great day watching my little guy beam with the excitiment of tossed balls and autographs, but the game itself was great. Diamondbacks pitcher Edgar Gonzalez took a no-hitter into the 7th before Adam Dunn hit his MLB leading 39th HR, knocking out Gonzalez and opening the gates to a 6-2 Reds victory.
