Of the apps listed in the article, over the years I’ve become a big fan of Google’s apps, Notebook, and particularly Google Docs a web based collaborative office suite. I’ve used Google Docs with both the kids to remotely help them work on papers for schools. It has great versioning features that enable you to write collaboratively.
