I am clearly out of touch with cinema this year because when visiting the massive multiplex with my friends Linda and Bob yesterday, I had not heard of most of the movies playing there. Looking through the multitude of movie offerings, we came to a quorum and decided on Beowulf 3D on the giant IMAX screen.
Frankly, I went because they chose the film and my expectations of a animated 3D sword and monster epic were basically nil. Color me suprised and very entertained. The animation was stunning and the story had enough going for it that it kept me involved throughout the whole film. I’m not one for gore, and even though it was animated gore, I decided to keep my eyes closed through some of the slime, blood and death. But that said, man oh man was this movie visually stunning in 3D on the massive IMAX screen.
If you’re going to see the film, you really owe it to yourself to see it on an IMAX screen. Tell them Scrappy sent you and maybe they’ll, ummm, ahhh, well okay, don’t tell them Scrappy sent you.
