Über guitarist and genius songwriter Richard Thompson has released his first studio recording in four years. The Old Kit Bag marks Richard’s departure from Capitol Records, and to my tastes is a much organic sounding album that the over produced work he created for much of the 90’s.r

Since founding the seminal British folk-rock group Fairport Convention in 1967, through his work with his first wife Linda for much of the 70’s, and on to his solo work during the past 20 years, Richard has been regarded as one of the greatest songwriters and guitarist of his generation. r
